Forza Motorsport is a 2023 sim racing video game developed by Turn 10 Studios and published by Xbox Game Studios. The game was released for Windows and Xbox Series X/S on October 10, 2023. It is the thirteenth main installment in the Forza series. Although it is the eighth Forza Motorsport title, succeeding Forza Motorsport 7, it is a reboot for the titular sub-series, dropping the sequential numbering from past entries' titles. The game received positive reviews from critics upon release, but with a generally negative community reception.

Gameplay:

Forza Motorsport is a sim racing video game. At launch, Forza Motorsport features more than 500 vehicles and 800 upgrades, as well as 20 newly built tracks. While over 100 of these are new to the series, many of them return from earlier Forza Motorsport games.

Forza Motorsport includes elements such as ray tracing in real-time on the track, tire wear, dynamic time of day, damage model changes with better-defined damage, paint chipping and dirt buildup. There are other effects, such as "animated track life", "physically based lighting and volumetric fog effects", and "a fully procedural cloud system". The game also includes a single-player career mode and several online multiplayer modes. At launch, Forza Motorsport will have four DLC packs for players. The game features a progression system inspired by role-playing video games. As players progress, they will unlock "Car Points" for each individual vehicle, allowing players to upgrade and alter its performance such as top speed, acceleration, and handling during racing events.

Game review:

After six long years, Forza Motorsport is off the lift and back in our lives. It looks great, feels great, sounds great, and it’s brought with it the most impressive multiplayer we’ve seen in the series so far. With 500 cars and 20 track locations it’s hardly a small start but, now positioned as a platform, Forza Motorsport has the potential to expand into a seriously rich racing destination over the coming years. If Flight Simulator on four wheels is the plan, I’m here for it. First on the list of improvements Turn 10 should focus on is revamping the new RPG-inspired upgrade system that turns progression into an unnecessarily long road ahead of each individual car, and maybe bringing back the joys of split-screen multiplayer racing to complement the excellent online modes.
